Hervy founded in 1884 São Paulo city, the heart of
South Hemisphere, was the first company to manufacture sanitary ware in
Latin America.
Hervy traces its beginnings to its founder Antonio Agu who transformed
a simple pottery factory into a sanitary ware manufacturing complex
employing the most advanced processes in the production of ceramics.
His vision still guides the company and has culminated in the
recognition of Hervy as one of the leading producers of sanitary ware.
As a result of substantial growth and its quest to maintain leading
edge technology and processes, Hervy in 1996 moved to a new state of
the art, 35,000 square meter factory in the vibrant city of
Taubaté in São Paulo state, strategically located
between the two largest metropolitan areas of Brazil - São
Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, with prompt access to the Santos port,
Brazilian largest gateway to the world.
The Hervy mission is the attainment of excellence through technical
advancements combined with social responsibility and respect for the
environment.
Hervy is a pioneer in Brazil in the utilization of technologies aimed
at reducing the usage of water in sanitary ware and has been very
active in developing new lines that use significantly less water in
each flush cycle.
Consistent with its commitment to environmental concerns, Hervy
produces these new products in modern, energy efficient kilns. Hervy
utilizes three English Drayton ovens which allow for the continuous
production of 135,000 units per month concurrent with the intermittent
production of an additional 65.000 units per month, for a total monthly
productive capacity off 200,000 units.
